Samsung Jet

The new Samsung Jet has been advertised as a phone for the impatient. It’s the all new touchscreen mobile from Samsung and we impatiently took it for a spin to see how it rates in the already crowded touchscreen marketplace.

It’s an elegant looking handset. The front of the Jet has a polished black sheen while the back has a reddish tint to it. It feels sturdy but compact, fitting nicely in our pockets. Considering Samsung's track record of waif-like handsets, it’s thicker than we expected, but this doesn’t detract from its stylish design.

The Jet’s 5-megapixel camera produced good pictures in daylight and there’s a physical key for taking photos, which we found handy. Photos and video look great on the Jet’s AMOLED screen and we’re really glad to see a 3.5mm headphone jack so that you can plug your cans in and listen to your favourite tracks.

Sony Ericsson W580i

The Sony Ericsson W580i was released in mid 2007 and was one of the best looking walkman phones available at the time. The phone has a lot of good features and a few cool features such as the Shake Control and the Pedometer which is built in. However, there were several rumours which soon became a lot of bad reviews about this phone having a serious problem with its keypad. Apparently the buttons are prone to cracking and a lot of people say that you shouldn’t bother with this phone. However, apparently not all the handsets are flawed in this way so you’ll have to make up your own mind as to whether or not you risk it.
